Bathrooms are often the first rooms to date and let down the decor of the rest of the home. The ensuite of this home built in the early 1970s was well overdue for an update. The space adjoins a spa room, which itself overlooks a mature hills garden and a winter creek. This association with water together with the client's treasured Waterhouse print of "Circe" became the inspiration for the bathroom's scheme. Grey marble floor tiles with a blue undertone were selected, giving the floor a feeling of fluid movement. Roman blinds in a waterlily linen fabric define the theme, which is taken into the main bedroom with co ordinating textures and stripes to the curtains and bedding.
